Kalymnos Hotels and accommodation
Kalymnos together with Pserimos and Telendos and some
other small uninhabited islands, it forms a community in
the prefecture of Dodecanese. The 109 sq km wide island
has about 13,000 inhabitants, of which about two thirds
live in the capital Pothia. Compared with other Aegean
islands of equal size, this is a remarkably high number
for a small island that has not been effected yet from
the package tourim.
Kalymnos is located north of Kos
only a half hour from Mastihari or Kos town and that
gives the advantage of day trips from Kos to Kalymnos
from many tourists that stay in Kos. There are
accommodations and hotels in Pothia, Vathi, Masouri,
Myrties and Telendos. Very recent Kalymnos has its own
airport and that will bring more tourism in th island.
In Kalymnos you will not find the huge hotel chains of
Kos or Rhodes but the tourism infrastructure is
developing quiqly. Kalymnos in an effort to attract
international tourism since a few years ago established
as a destination for climbers especialy in the area of
Emporios . The most popular climbing routes are
concentrated in Masouri. Kalymnos is increasingly
turning to tourism as a source of income. In general
accommodation prices in Kalymnos are much more cheaper
